About The Artist

Rae Sheaperd is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Santa Cruz, California. Combining field recordings where the forest meet the sea with tender instrumentals, her tracks create a contemplative soundscape for daydreaming, night dreaming, or even a third thing...

My goal as a composer is to explore our relationship to the world around us. Through random chance, psychoacoustics, and sonic landscapes, I want to create ecosystems for the listener to inhabit and explore their relationship with sound, nature, and technology.

My largest inspirations come from classical music and modern video game music, but overall I tend to stay experimental . I employ a wide variety of instrumental techniques from homemade instruments to live electronic processing to interpretive scoring.
